A Quick Wyrm Publishing Update

The last few months have provided more than their fair share of stressful distractions. Several things have been pushed to the side or just plain ignored while I've dealt with those. I'm not out of the woods yet, but I've been making an effort to get things back on track.

There is one project in Wyrm's catalog that has had the appearance of being cursed from day one.... the signed limited edition of Toast by Charles Stross. It was originally scheduled years ago and has been tripping over deadlines ever since. The good news is that is finally in the hands of our printer. If they survive the curse and don't burn down, I should have the books in early September. I'll post another update when they supply the final shipping date.

One of the other things I've been working on is an ebookstore for Wyrm and Clarkesworld. I think it still needs work, but I came to the realization that waiting for perfection was silly. You can now order ebook editions of Realms, Last Drink Bird Head, and back issues of Clarkesworld via the Wyrm Ebookstore. At this time, Wyrm has two stores: one for print and one for ebooks. It might be a bit confusing for some people, but it actually made sense when it came to the features each cart system offered. I hope to pull them together at some point in the future. Anyhow, the ebookstore has PayPal and Google Checkout as payment options. That should cover all your needs. Once paid for, you can download your EPUB or MOBI/Kindle edition and load it onto your reader.

Last Drink Bird Head, the flash fiction charity anthology edited by Ann and Jeff VanderMeer, is now available for preorder. Good news! Tides from the New Worlds, our long overdue short story collection from Tobias Buckell, has cleared it's last obstacle. We've given our printer the go ahead and expect to have this book in our hands in mid-April.

Shriek CD Update

After yet another delay, the Shriek CDs arrived on Monday. Orders placed during the holidays were held up while we waited for our "any day now" shipment. Thank you for you patience. Where I can, I'm upgrading the shipping to make up for some of the lost time.

Our next book is Tides from the New Worlds by Tobias Buckell. The latest update we have from the printer indicates that we should have this book in late February.

Shriek CD

The Shriek CD is now shipping from the people who produced it for us. If you ordered Shriek on or before the 17th, you will receive your copy from them. Customers who placed their orders after that date will have their CD shipped to them by us when our copies arrive sometime next week.

The signed limited edition of Shriek: An Afterword by Jeff VanderMeer has shipped from the printer and should arrive this weekend. Upon arrival, we will immediately begin shipping preorders and expect to have them in your hands before the holidays. Due to further delays with the accompanying soundtrack by The Church, the CD will be shipped separately from the people who produced it for us. You can expect it to be about a week behind the book.

Production Update

We've received word from our printers that Realms: The First Year of Clarkesworld Magazine (tpb and hc) and Memorare by Gene Wolfe will be shipped to us sometime late next week. I don't know how long they'll take to get to us, but we do expect to start shipping orders by the end of the month.

The latest issue of Clarkesworld Magazine is now online and features fiction by Mary Robinette Kowal and Paul Jessup, non-fiction by Ekaterina Sedia, an interview with Laird Barron and an editorial by Neil Clarke. Also new this month, our first audio fiction.

Tides from the New Worlds

Brian Dow has turned in the cover art for Tobias Buckell's short story collection, Tides from the New Worlds, and I couldn't be more pleased by it. Tonight it will be sent off to our designer so he can work on the final version of the book's cover.

The December issue of Clarkesworld Magazine features stories by Samantha Henderson, Loreen Heneghan and Lisa Mantchev, non-fiction from Jason Ridler and an interview with Steven Erikson by Jeff VanderMeer. Our cover art, "Sunken City", was created by Michael Brack. This is Lisa Mantchev's second appearance in Clarkesworld. Her story is a companion piece to "A Dance Across Embers" which was originally published in our October issue.

Memorare by Gene Wolfe

For several reasons, including my ongoing battle with pneumonia, Wyrm Publishing's schedule has to be pushed back. Everything is still moving forward, just not at the pace I had hoped for. For example, I had hoped to have Memorare by Gene Wolfe in time for the holidays. Not going to happen. I can show you the final cover though. :)
